William “Billy” Busch, president and CEO of the St. Louis-based William K. Busch Brewing Co., plans to build a brewery and distillery on land he owns in St. Charles County. The man behind the Kraftig beer brand envisions a 20,000-square-foot microbrewery with room for 265 customers and beer production of up to 2,500 barrels annually.
Plans also allow for the possibility of expanding to include a petting zoo, beer hall, gift shop and more.
The brewery would focus on small batches of beer, as well as craft whiskeys.
Some Kraftig and Kraftig Light would also be produced at the facility. Currently, Kraftig is brewed under contract at a facility in Wisconsin.
