The biggest Anheuser-Busch distributorship in Missouri said Thursday that it’s expanding into Illinois, announcing a deal to buy Metro East wholesaler Illinois Distribution Co.
No price was disclosed. The deal, which still must be approved by A-B, is expected to close by year’s end. If that happens, Grey Eagle would have a portfolio of nearly 10 million cases worth of annual sales stretching from Gasconade County, Mo. to Monroe County, Ill. The Maryland Heights-based firm, which has exclusive rights to ship A-B products in St. Louis County, currently sells about 7 million cases a year. Read more on St. Louis Post-Dispatch.
