Wow Air, the only airline to offer nonstop service to Europe from St. Louis Lambert International Airport, is ending those flights in January.
The news was made public Monday, just five months after the budget carrier from Iceland started offering service from St. Louis.
Wow’s arrival ended a 15-year stretch without any direct flights to Europe from the St. Louis airport.
No reason was given for the discontinuation, but reports have suggested serious problems at Wow Air and concerns about its future.
St. Louis lured Wow to the market with $800,000 of incentives, but the airport said the airline will fail to qualify for those by departing in January.
