Mo’ Money Tax Franchise Owner and Preparers Charged With Conspiracy

Jimi Clark, 57, of Memphis, Tenn., owner of a Mo’ Money Tax franchise, and four of his tax preparers were arrested Wednesday on charges of falsely claiming educational tax credits on 47 returns, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office of the Eastern District of Missouri.

Clark oversaw the preparation of tax returns at his franchise and supervised all preparers working in his franchise, including his co-defendants Justin Buford, Leslie Chaney, Ray Reed and Mary Taylor, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office. The indictment was returned Oct. 10, but it was sealed until the defendants were arrested Wednesday.
