The National Association of Insurance Commissioners announced that Therese Vaughan will step down as CEO, effective Nov. 30.

Vaughan had announced in August that she planned to leave the job early in 2013, but she’s accelerating her departure as head of the standard-setting and regulatory support body that represents insurance regulators from all 50 states.

Andrew Beal, COO and chief legal officer, will be interim CEO. Vaughan has been CEO of the Kansas City-based NAIC since February 2009.
