Kansas City Defense Lawyer Admits Money Laundering

A prominent Kansas City criminal defense lawyer pleaded guilty Wednesday in Kansas federal court to laundering money that he thought came from illegal drug sales.

Ronald Partee, 66, will be sentenced for two counts of laundering money from an undercover federal agent after a sting operation that revealed his credit counseling business to be a front for laundering money from marijuana sales.

Partee could face up to five years in prison. Two others involved with the scheme were indicted last week.
