Missouri House Committee Endorses Shipping Tax Credit

A bill that would create $5 million worth of tax credits for river commerce received the blessing Wednesday of the House Committee on International Trade. The measure would set up $3.2 million in credits for companies that increase their shipping through ports in Missouri. It would also create $1.5 million in credits specifically to subsidize international river cargo, and $250,000 in credits for jobs or investment created at cargo facilities.
