Fed’s Bernanke To Attend St. Louis Event On Community Banks

Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke is coming to St. Louis in October for a research and policy convention hosted by the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis. The event, which is expected to draw bankers from across the country, will explore topics including the role of community banks in the financial system, the challenges they face and their outlook.

At 73 of the community banks based in St. Louis, profits rose by 155 percent in 2012, totaling $252 million.
