Missouri is the 16th-most friendly state for businesses when it comes to taxes, according to the Tax Foundation.
Its fiscal 2013 State Business Tax Climate Index gives Kansas a middling ranking of 26th. However, Kansas is set to see some tax rates drop next year. The rankings are based on each state’s tax climate as of July 1, which was the first day of the typical 2013 fiscal year for states.
According to the index, Missouri’s rates are lower than Kansas’ in most cases, except for property taxes.
Missouri has a 6 percent individual income tax with 10 brackets; a 6.25 percent corporate income tax; 4.225 percent sales and excise taxes; and $2,625 in property tax collections per capita.
