March Madness To Boost The Kansas City Economy

A flood of basketball tournaments in Kansas City are expected to leave the city with a $22.9 million benefit, according to the Kansas City Convention & Visitors Association. The tournaments coming in will be bringing 66 teams in to compete in 58 games, with games on 12 different days in March.

The tournaments the city is hosting are the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletic Association’s Men’s and Women’s Basketball Championships, the NAIA Division-I Men’s Basketball Championship and the Big 12 Men’s Basketball Championship, as well as the second and third rounds of the NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Championship.
