St. Louis Music Festival Bill Going To Board Of Aldermen

Wednesday an aldermanic committee approved a bill that would bring a music festival to downtown St. Louis on Memorial Day and Labor Day weekends for up to 20 years.

The approval comes despite some protests from musicians and other St. Louis residents. Among the amendments added to the bill in committee was a controversial non-compete clause saying the city could not support music events of similar size and style during the summer months.

If passed by the Board of Alderman, the bill would give Summer Rocks LLC exclusive rights to the Gateway Mall on those weekends.
