Marine Corps Signs Five-year Lease to Keep Data Center in KC

The U.S. Marine Corps has re-upped its lease on its data center near the Bannister Federal Complex through 2017, a decision that will keep 435 well-paid employees in Kansas City — at least for now.

Marine Corps officials still are evaluating whether the operation, which has been handling payroll and other services since 1967, will remain in Kansas City for the long term. Three other cities are vying for the operation, and New Orleans has made a particularly aggressive pitch. Read more on Kansas City Star.
