Southwest Airlines Implements Mobile Boarding Pass System In St. Louis

Southwest Airlines announced that passengers departing from Lambert-St. Louis International Airport may now show their electronic boarding passes at security checkpoints and also at the gate when they board.

The airline said the system enables customers to pass security and board an aircraft just by using their mobile device.  The launch follows a pilot program in Austin, Houston and Dallas, which started in November. Southwest plans to implement the program in all of the domestic cities it serves.
