UniGroup President To Resign Next Year

Richard McClure will resign in early 2015 as president of UniGroup, the parent company of United Van Lines and Mayflower Transit. McClure joined UniGroup, a $1.61 billion transportation and relocation company based in Fenton, in 1995. McClure became president of UniGroup in 2002.

McClure, a Springfield native, served as deputy chief of staff for Illinois Gov. Jim Thompson from 1980 to 1984. McClure then served as chief of staff for Missouri Gov.John Ashcroft from 1985 to 1992. He then entered the private sector as manager of corporate services with Central Bancompany in Jefferson City.

UniGroup has 830 employees, 775 of whom are in the St. Louis area.
