Teamsters Urge ‘No’ Vote On YRC Executive Pay Plan

Leaders of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters are asking YRC shareholders to vote against a number of proposals concerning executive compensation at YRC Worldwide Inc., a trucking company based in Overland Park, Kan. The proposals are scheduled to be considered during the annual shareholder meeting on April 29.

A letter to the shareholders says the union, which represents more than 25,000 YRC employees, opposes the proposals because the compensation committee has “administered YRCW’s executive pay programs in a way that uncouples pay from performance.” The letter also argued YRC’s executive pay-for-performance profile is the worst in its peer group.
