Development along KC streetcar line raises parking concerns

As construction of Kansas City’s streetcar line spurs development in the city’s Crossroads arts district, it’s also raising concerns about the availability of public parking spaces in the area.

There isn’t exactly a shortage of parking spots in the Crossroads, but the majority of lots in the area are private. So some business owners in the area are looking to raze buildings to accommodate public lots for their customers.

That idea has historic preservationists and neighborhood activists concerned, and City Hall has gotten involved.
