LaunchKC names 20 startups set to compete for $500,000 in grants

LaunchKC, a national grants competition for early-stage tech companies, has announced 20 finalists from a pool of nearly 500 applicants. These finalists will gather in Kansas City later this month at the Techweek KC conference to compete for 10 grants worth $50,000 each. Read more

Coal divestment bill passes California state legislature

A bill requiring California’s state pension funds CalPers and CalSTRS to sell their investments in coal companies passed the Assembly on Wednesday, a major step for legislation that backers hope will inspire other funds to address climate change. Read more
