A coalition that includes several prominent Missouri business groups filed a lawsuit Monday seeking to block the implementation of an increased minimum wage in St. Louis. Read more

St. Luke’s to partner with Hy-Vee on clinic in grocery store

St. Luke’s Health System plans to open its first “convenient care” clinic at a Hy-Vee Grocery store in the Kansas City area, and the Kansas City-based health care provider could open another of the clinics before the end of the year. Read more

Capital Innovators invests in five new startups

Capital Innovators, a St. Louis-based accelerator for early-stage companies, has invested $50,000 for an equity stake in five more startups, all from the St. Louis area. The companies range from a wholesaler of smartphone and tablet replacement parts to an e-commerce outfit that sells personalized gifts and greeting cards. Read more

Midwest cities’ unemployment rates encouraging

Two recent breakdowns of employment statistics showed that most Midwest cities had unemployment rates lower than the unadjusted national average of 5.6 percent. Read more


Agtech investing on the rise as venture capitalists meet in St. Louis

Money invested into agtech companies by venture capitalists nearly tripled in 2014 when compared to the year prior. This year, experts project $172 million to be invested across 55 deals. Read more
