Previewing a second term similar to his first, Gov. Jay Nixon said he is launching a study of how to reorganize state government to make it more efficient.

He said he has asked two of his top deputies, Chief of Staff John Watson and Director of Policy Jeff Harris, to collect information in the next couple of months from the public and private sectors on how the state can better deliver services.

Republicans gained strength in the state Legislature, and now have veto-proof majorities in the House and Senate. Even so, Nixon said he doesn’t plan to change his strategy in dealing with the Legislature.
