MO’s Delegation Optimistic About Avoiding Fiscal Cliff

Sen. Roy Blunt won a new term as the Senate GOP’s No. 5 leader in a closed-door, secret-ballot election and Missouri’s representatives in Washington expressed optimism that Congress will approve a major debt-reduction package that includes a different set of revenue increases and spending cuts than the fiscal cliff would entail.In separate interviews, they all left themselves wiggle room for compromise on those issues — touting their respective party positions, without drawing too many lines in the political sand.
