Senate Committee Takes Another Shot At Sports Tax

A Missouri Senate committee met to renew a discussion about passing legislation to incentivizes sporting events to be held in the state. Similar legislation has failed in the last three years.

The chairman of the Economic Development and Local Government Committee said the bill could incentivize large events to the state that could bring greater revenue for the state, local vendors, and local business owners. Business groups sent representatives to speak in favor of the bill.
