Survey Shows Pay Primary Factor In Job Satisfaction

A new national survey of office workers makes it clear that salary trumps any other factor that might be important to employees. Seventy percent of 3,991 workers surveyed in November said pay was the key factor to keep them on the job. That may sound like a no-kidding result, but it emphasizes a trend that’s been building for several years. In the late 1990s, pay often ranked behind other workplace perks when employees were asked why they stayed or left.
