Sinquefield Nears $2.4 Million In Spending To Support Tax Cuts

Billionaire political activist Rex Sinquefield is closing in on $2.4 million in donations to groups backing a Missouri income tax cut. Reports posted online by the Missouri Ethics Commission show Sinquefield gave $750,000 to the Missouri Club for Growth, which announced Wednesday that it will start running TV and radio ads next week to encourage lawmakers to override Gov. Jay Nixon’s veto of the legislation, which would reduce the state’s top individual and corporate income tax rates and implement a deduction for business income on individual tax returns.

Last week, Sinquefield gave approximately $1.6 million to various organizations to promote the veto override.
