Last week’s special session of the Missouri General Assembly saw legislators approve up to $1.7 billion in tax breaks for Boeing in hopes of drawing one of the company’s production facilities to St. Louis County. The five-day session itself carried a price tag for taxpayers of a just less than $100,000.
The House clerk’s office said that the special session, called by Gov. Jay Nixon, cost about $75,000 in extra operational costs and members’ travel and daily living allowances. The session reportedly cost the Senate about $17,500.
