Nestlé Purina PetCare, the country’s largest pet food maker, ranked first among the 23 large organizations in St. Louis that agreed to have employees confidentially surveyed for Top Workplaces, a joint project by the Post-Dispatch and WorkplaceDynamics, a survey company.
In addition to offering on-site massages and a dietitian who gives employees advice on healthy eating, the company also offers an on-site biometric screening for employees to test blood pressure, cholesterol, glucose levels, weight, and body mass index. Other benefits include a pension plan, flexible work scheduling that allows employees to work from home, and an on-site child care center, company store, credit union and coffee shop.
Ranking second was Edward Jones, which has expanded its wellness initiatives. Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Select Properties, which previously operated as Prudential Select Properties, ranked third among large companies in this year’s survey.
