Missouri House Speaker Tim Jones will not seek statewide office in two years, the Eureka Republican announced.
Jones had expressed interest in recent months in running either for Attorney General or Lieutenant Governor. But he says after talking with family and friends and praying for guidance, he has decided to take time away from public office.
Jones has accepted a position of Senior Policy Fellow with the Hammond Institute at Lindenwood University. He says he will keep his options open for 2018 and subsequent elections.
