Blunt, Wagner retain leadership posts, McCaskill challenges Reid

In selection of leaders for the 114th Congress on Thursday in Washington, two Missouri legislators kept leadership positions within their party, and another expressed opposition for the leadership of her own.

Republican Sen. Roy Blunt kept his current position as vice chair of the Senate Republican conference, the fifth position in Senate Republican leadership. Rep. Ann Wagner, R- Ballwin, will remain a senior House whip and will become a liaison between second-term Republicans and House Speaker John Boehner.

Meanwhile, Democratic Sen. McCaskill made a splash with a statement that voters last week had sent a message of change, and that change should include the Democratic party’s Senate leadership.
