U.S. Sen. Roy Blunt, a Missouri Republican, has been among Washington’s most vocal critics of President Barack Obama’s executive order offering protection from deportation for up to 5 million undocumented immigrants living in the U.S.
Blunt, alongside Sens. Ted Cruz and John Cornyn, has actively questioned and combatted the executive order since Obama’s November announcement. Blunt voted in favor of Cruz’s point of order that called the president’s actions unconstitutional.
Looking ahead to Senate control shifting to Republicans in 2015, Blunt has vowed to continue his opposition.
“As Republicans prepare to take control of the Senate next year, I will continue to fight against this administration’s blatant disregard for the law and the Constitution.”
