KC-Metro company brokers wind energy agreement

Lenexa-based Tradewind Energy Inc. signed a long-term agreement to sell electricity from a new wind farm to a North Dakota power cooperative, Basin Electric Power Cooperative. The cooperative will buy power from the 150-megawatt Lindahl Wind Project in Williams County, N.D. Tradewind said in a release that the Lindahl Wind Project will include about 75 turbines spread across 20,000 acres. The project was initiated by about 20 landowners about four years ago. Tradewind bought the project in order to advance its development, including finding a buyer for the power it would generate.
