A political group that attacked Tom Schweich in radio ads is run by a consultant for Catherine Hanaway, who would have been Schweich’s top competition for the Republican nomination for Missouri governor in 2016.

Citizens for Fairness in Missouri was created to fight a smoking ban in St. Joseph. The Post-Dispatch says Jeff Roe, a Kansas City political consultant who has been hired by Hanaway to manage her campaign, resurrected the group earlier this year to air anti-Schweich ads on the radio.
