Missouri among four states to test compliance with carbon limits

Missouri is one of four states that will study compliance options for proposed federal carbon limits through a program sponsored by the National Governors Association.

The program will provide access to researchers, modeling programs and other technical assistance to study ways to satisfy proposed Environmental Protection Agency rules limiting power plant carbon dioxide emissions. Those rules are are expected to be finalized this summer.

Michigan, Utah and Pennsylvania will also take part in the program.
