The Missouri National Guard announced this week that it will add 400 new soldiers to its force over the next year, including 50 in Columbia.

The new soldiers will add to the 12,000 Army and Air Guard personnel who are already a part of the Missouri National Guard. The guard began recruiting this summer and expects to fill all openings in Columbia by next September.

The guard is specifically recruiting people for transportation positions and for military police.
