Missouri House adopts stricter intern, harassment policies

A Missouri House committee on Thursday adopted several changes to the House sexual harassment and college intern policy.

The House started decided to address its intern policy after two lawmakers resigned amid reports of inappropriate dealings with interns.

The new policy, which takes effect immediately, expands the list of people required to report any harassment complaints. It also requiring annual conduct and ethics training for House members and staffers, and it prohibits romantic relationships between lawmakers and interns or staffers.
