Kansas City Unemployment Jumps in July — Or Does It?

Kansas City metro-area unemployment jumped to 7.5 percent in July, up from 6.8 percent in June, according to preliminary figures the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reported Wednesday.

That’s still an improvement from 8.2 percent unemployment in July 2011, and it’s better than the national July 2012 rate of 8.6 percent. The figures are not seasonally adjusted.
